Is Get Paid To Try a Scam? Unbiased Review

Share with

You are probably here because you want to make money with online surveys, more specifically, Get Paid To Try. Is Get Paid To Try a scam or a legitimate way to make money online?

In this Get Paid To Try review I will answer that question and many more to help you make an informed decision whether this website is worth your time.

Everyone wants to earn easy money online. There is no doubt about that. The real question is ”Are the countless hours you will spend on these online surveys worth the returns?” or is your time spent better somewhere else?

This review will not only help you analyze Get Paid To Try, but it will also help you with future investigation of similar make-money-online opportunities.

Let’s begin!

What Is Get Paid To Try?

Get Paid To Try is a website that you can join for free and supposedly make money online by answering surveys. They also claim to give you bonuses if you manage to refer people to the platform.

Unlike most other survey sites that pay out in ”gifts”, Get Paid To Try pays out in cash.

Is Get Paid To Try A Scam

The bad thing though, is that Get Paid To Try facilitates US residents only.

Even though they claim to give you surveys to help organizations improve their work, based on my research there no such activity going on. More on that later in this Get Paid To Try review.

Get Paid To Try has an affiliate program as well. You will be given a link through which you can invite people to join the platform. If someone accepts your invitation you will earn $0,50/ referral.

So far the program seems pretty legit, but I have a feeling that something is going on with this survey website. Let’s continue investigating!

How Does Get Paid To Try Work?

Get Paid To Try is free to join. After you create your account, you will be asked to fill in your profile. Based on the details you fill in, you will qualify for different surveys. You will then be asked to read emails, answer surveys or complete small tasks in order to earn money from the platform.

How Much Can You Earn?

Once you create your account, you will be given an activation bonus of $5. After that you will earn an average of  $0.25 – $1.25 per survey. Sometimes you can earn $2 per survey, but these are rare cases.

For reading emails you will only earn $0.05 per email.

A survey usually takes between 5 minutes and 40 minutes to complete.

You can also be asked to sign up for a free trial of a program or visit an online store. This will take longer time, but you can also earn more, $0.50 – $5 per offer.

Be careful with offer like that, because sometimes you will be asked to fill in your credit card details. The problem is that after the free trial is over, you will not be able to cancel your membership and you will get charged.

The Minimum Threshold You Need To Hit

Some survey sites require you to hit a certain threshold in order to withdraw your money. The minimum threshold that you need to hit is $20.

The only two platforms through which you can transfer your money to your bank account are PayPal and Check.

Are the Get Paid To Try Scam Warnings True?

I took a look at what members are saying about the platform and they didn’t seem to be very happy with Get Paid To Try. Below you can see some of their most common complaints.

  • People started receiving spam email and promotional calls more frequently than before. This may be due to misuse of their personal information by the platform.
  • People couldn’t unsubscribe from the platform and even if they somehow did, they continued receiving spam emails and promotional calls.
  • Some tasks may require you to pay a small fee, but the company charges more than what it said.
  • Money can be taken away from your credit card after signing up for the free trials that some tasks require.

Is Get Paid To Try a Scam?

I wouldn’t call Get Paid To Try a scam, but it is a VERY unsustainable way to make money online.  Yes, you may earn some money, but you also run the risk that your personal information will land in the wrong place.

You may start receiving calls and emails from promoters and it will be very hard to get rid of them. I also don’t advice you to take the surveys that ask for your credit card. Even though it’s a ”free” survey, you may end up paying more than you expected.

Even though Get Paid To Try is not a scam, it doesn’t mean it’s a good way to spend your time. You will earn an average of $1.9 per hour! You can earn WAY more money if you focus your efforts somewhere else.

I think that online surveys are a waste of time and I believe that there are much better ways to make money online. Let me tell you a little more about my favorite way of making money online.

Here’s What I Recommend

Unfortunately most programs that claim to help you make money online are scams. I know that from experience and after reviewing hundreds of them on this website.

So far there is only one legitimate program that I recommend. It is called Wealthy Affiliate. It will teach you everything about affiliate marketing and provide you with all the training, tools and support that you need.

For those of you who are not familiar with affiliate marketing, it is basically the process of earning commissions for promoting someone else’s product.

If this sounds like something for you, check out my Wealthy Affiliate Review or create your free account and explore the platform yourself.

Wealthy Affiliate is a platform that over-delivers and I have had nothing, but positive experiences with it!

  1. I’ve come across similar sites to “Paid to Try”, and always viewed them with suspician. The idea of giving your credit card details to any such company is a bad one. Also, the fact you’re liable to get spam emails is a definite red flag. Before finding Wealthy Affiliate I tried various ways of making money online, with poor results. WA is definitely the best option especially for newbies

  2. Thanks for this review. To me, you’ve exposed another fake promise to help people make money online. $0.25 – $1.25 per survey? Sometimes you can earn $2 per survey? That means, if my math is correct, you’d have to do at least 100 surveys to make a measly $25. You’re better off becoming an affiliate marketer by joining a platform like Wealthy Affiliate. Thanks again for your honest review.

  3. Only those in the US have access to this program so its of no use to people outside of the US and then there is the matter of moneys coming of your credit card along with the payout not be great sounds like a turn of to me.

  4. Hi Delyana,

Making $1.9 per hour doesn’t sound nice to me, and people feedback that they receive spam emails and promotional calls frequently than before(a huge red flag) So, I will not try this GPT site to make extra money online.
I am glad that I read your article before giving out personal data to join the platform. Thanks a lot.

    Cheers,
    Matt

  5. Well, I was excited until I reached the part where you said that Get Paid To Try facilitates only the US residents. Bummer! I’m from the EU, which means I can’t get paid to try. But thanks for sharing. Do you have a recommendation for us in the EU? Something that knows no borders?

    • If you are looking for a legitimate paid survey platform, then Toluna may be something you want to look into. But overall, I don’t recommend you get involved with paid surveys. Even though some of them are legit, the returns you get are minimal. Your time is better spent somewhere else.
