How Much Money Can You Make?

A common question that people ask is how much they can earn by filling in online surveys. Well, it depends on how much time you are dedicating every day, but overall – you can not make a lot of money with survey sites.

You may manage to earn $75-$100 per month if you dedicate your time to it, but you won’t be able to cover your basic expenses. Here is a case study that shows how a woman dedicated a week to filling in paid surveys and she only managed to earn $17.20.

Speaking from my own experience, I can say that paid surveys won’t take you long. A couple of years ago I decided to take online surveys and I managed to get a free cinema ticket. But…It took me several months to earn that ticket, which leads me to my next point…

Are Paid Surveys Worth Your Time? 💵⌛

What Are The Best Paid Online Survey Sites

So, are paid surveys worth your time? The answer is ”no”. In the long term you will be earning no more than $1-2 per hour. This is ridiculously low. There are much better ways to earn extra money online. Some of them even has the potential to replace your 9 to 5 job and turn into a source of passive income stream.

Let me tell you about one of them…

Here’s a Better Opportunity 💯

Now that you know that paid surveys are not worth your time, let me tell you about a better opportunity.

My preferred way of making money online is with affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is all about earning commissions for promoting other people’s products.

You will partner with companies, such as Amazon and Nike and promote their products. For each sale that you generate, the company will pay you a percentage of the sale. The good thing is that almost any product has an affiliate program that you can join for free.

Are there products or services that you are satisfied with? If so, why not join their affiliate programs and start promoting them?

Affiliate marketing will take an initial work, but once everything is set up, you will be earning passive income on autopilot.

Sounds like something you would like to try out? If so, join Wealthy Affiliate for free and start following the training. Wealthy Affiliate will teach you step-by-step how to make money with affiliate marketing. They will also provide you with all the support and tools you need.

I have been a Wealthy Affiliate member for the past 8 months and I have had nothing, but positive experiences with it.

Final Thoughts

In this article I covered the top 10 paid survey sites in my opinion. There are many more survey sites out there, but these are the ones that I found to be the most legit.

Even though you can earn extra cash with paid surveys, I don’t recommend them. They are not a good investment of your time. It is much better to dedicate your time to build an online business that will turn into a passive income stream in the future.

If you happen to have any question, leave them in the comments and I will get back to you as soon as possible 😉

  1. Hey,

This is such an informative and interesting article for me. I’m so glad I came across it because we have gone into a second full lockdown here in the UK and it is not good. Especially with saving money. Being furloughed and not being paid as much as we usually do is hurting a lot of people and families, including mine.

These survey sites could really help me and my family, and some of my friends too. So I am going to share your article with them and see if they would like to take up this survey kind of business.

I will let you know how we go and if indeed we eventually start doing this.

Thank you for sharing and keep up the great work.

    All the best,

    • Thanks for sharing your story with us. I know lock downs are hard, especially when you have a big family and a small house. But try to see it from the positive side. You now have so much time at your disposal. Utilize it wisely to build an online business, so that when the lock down is over, you won’t even have to go to work again.

  2. There are many paid survey sites that are online and I must agree with you, for a few extra dollars this can work but if you want to kick the 9-5 and work full time for yourself then creating and monetizing a website is the way to go. Wealthy Affiliate is an online platform that has the best training in helping anyone to create and have success in the online world going full time into business from the comforts of their home.

    • Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts with us Norman. I agree with you. Surveys can earn you extra cash, but an online business can help you quit your 9 to 5 job.

  3. Thanks a lot for sharing this list of the best paid online survey sites. I wouldn’t call then well-paid though. Survey sites are popular amongst newbies, and I admit, sometimes I seek for a post like this to see whether I have overlooked a profitable site.

But every research I do comes back with the same results. In other words, survey sites are simply not worth time and effort. Your recommendation below, on the other hand, is something worth trouble. I made a lot of money so far with affiliate marketing and can vouch for it.

Thanks again for sharing this post! Keep up the good work!

  4. Hi, thanks for writing this. I definitely went through a phase of trying the online survey thing, and it was so frustrating, as a lot of sites were cheeky and would let me get half way into the survey to then tell me I wasn’t eligible. But the list here looks really great and very informative. I particularly love the look of One Poll because the array of topics seems so vast and likewise Pinecone research looks like a worthwhile time investment. Thanks for the advice on clicking on banners too, that’s great! I really appreciate your honest opinion, that overall from the perspective of ongoing income it isn’t worth it, I agree. However particularly at this time of year, a lot of people would love a bit of extra money for Christmas gifts so I’m sure this will be very helpful to people. Great that you include such a wonderful alternative for more long term solutions too 🙂

    • Thanks for your comment. Yeah, I know that feeling of going through half of the survey only to be notified that I am not eligible. It sucks :/

You are right that some people may benefit from paid surveys around Christmas, but overall they are just a waste of time. Thanks again for stopping by 🙂

  5. An interesting article. Initially I was starting to get interested in the concept, so I am extremely glad that you put the earning potential into context at the end! I think my time will be much better spent focusing on things that have the potential for being more lucrative. It does make me wonder who is willing to spend an hour of their time for just $1!!

    • Yes, I wonder that too 😀 I guess there are people who desperately need the money, so they are willing to work for $1/hour. But for anyone looking to build long term success, I recommend to stay away from paid surveys.

  6. I agree it is much better to monetize a website than to mess with these survey sites. I tried them many moons ago and it was very frustrating for the low reward the work expended. In any event, you have provided good info for those who desire to go in that direction.

  7. Finally! Getting someone to voice my thoughts about making money with online surveys. They offer too little money for the amount of time and work some of them require of you. I totally agree with you about not recommending them as a viable option to making money online. Some people I know though, love them as a gig on the side,

The Wealthy Affiliate option is more promising and more worthy of the time investment

  8. There are so many paid online survey online today and this review really opened my eyes to surveys. You have confirmed all that I’ve known and added a lot more helpful points about surveys, thanks for sharing this with us, I now know a lot after reading this.
